Our Fall Newsletter includes an invitation to join one of our committees, pictures from our fun-filled Sloane’s Day, and some interesting facts that you may not know.
Special Edition Newsletter – July 2023
It is with mixed emotions that we share the news that Amy Archer, Sloane’s House first Executive Director, will be stepping down from her position as of July 29, 2023. Amy became Executive Director in November 2020 and over her two and a half years led the organization through the challenges of the pandemic, delivering us even stronger when we resumed our in-person activities, including our annual golf tournament. Well-known in Durham Region before joining Sloane’s House, Amy’s prior knowledge and experience as a Palliative Pain and Symptom Management Consultant (PPSMC), membership on the original team who opened the doors to Emily’s House pediatrics hospice centre in Toronto, and 10 years working in the area of Hematology Oncology at Sick Kids brought authenticity and inspiration to the story of Sloane’s House.
